Conference info sheet 2016.pdf
Conferences help students, teachers, and parents gain valuable insight into a student’s ability and progress. It is a time to celebrate your child’s learning.
Your child is invited to be a part of a Parent-Student-Teacher conference. This is an exciting opportunity for your child to be an active participant in the discussion about their learning. Students also understand how they are responsible for their own learning when they are included. The Cass motto, We care, learn, and grown together, is meaningful when children are included in the conference.
You may be wondering about having your child attend if you have confidential information to share. Please feel free to ask your child to step out of the room for a moment. If the topic is substantial, you may need to make a different appointment with me. The purpose of the brief (13 minutes) conference time is to review progress and talk about learning goals.
As you know, our time together is limited, so it is helpful for me to know in advance if you have any topics or concerns that you would like to discuss. Please complete this information sheet and return it to school as soon as possible. Having this information ahead of time will help us to be better prepared, focus our discussion, and make better use of our time together.
After the conference, parents are invited to write a positive parent note so your child will have your encouraging words at school to give continued love and support. (We’ll provide the notepaper and pens!) Please leave your note in the class envelope and I will give the note to your child.
Thank you for your support!
