Welcome Letter

Dear Parents,

I would like to welcome you and your child to the 2015-2016 school year. It is hard to believe that summer is over. I hope everyone had an enjoyable vacation. I spent much of my summer spending time with my children; fourteen year old Dylan and almost nine year old Kailyn. We are members to our neighborhood swim club and enjoyed many of our summer days there! We also took a trip to Florida, where we cought 8 foot nurse sharks!   My daughter also swam with dolphins!!
I am very excited to be teaching your child this year! These early educational years are pivitol ones for children. Kindergarten is their first year to be in school all day and for most children, the year they begin reading. The anticipation parents have as their child begins school is excitement as well as anxiety. Believe me, I have had all those same feelings as my children went to kindergarten and still continue to have the same feelings each and every new school year!

I have been teaching for 16 years; with most of my experience with 1st grade special needs
students.  This is my 2nd year of teaching kindergarten; I truly feel that I found my niche!
Teaching is more to me than just a job. It is a commitment I take seriously. My goal, my mission as a teacher, is to fully dedicate myself to help children believe in themselves and develop to their full potential. I hold high expectations for your child academically as well as socially and will do all I can do to help them meet those expectations.
