About Me

My name is Shelby Longworth and I am so excited to be your child’s teacher this year! I am so excited to be back at Cass for my second year of teaching!

I attended college at Eastern Michigan University where I graduated with my bachelor’s degree in April of 2015. I double-majored in elementary education and special education with an emphasis on cognitive impairments. I am a product of Livonia Public Schools and have grown as an educator through the district as a student teacher. I completed my special education student teaching in a 5th & 6th grade self-contained classroom at Riley Upper Elementary. I also student taught here at Cass in a 4th grade classroom where I got to know many of the staff members and students and fell in love with this awesome school!
In my free time you can find me spending time with family and friends, baking, reading, keeping up with the Detroit Tigers, going to yoga classes, and shopping at Target and TJ Maxx. :)

I look forward to getting to know your child as an individual to learn their strengths, what motivates them, and how I can support them as a student. Please know that your child’s safety and well-being is my highest priority as your child’s teacher. I am here always for both you AND your child this school year. Feel free to contact me any time at:
