About Mrs. Gordon

I grew up in Dearborn Heights, Michigan where I attended Crestwood High School. During my time as a high school student I began to develop into a young artist and enrolled in classes that would allow me to explore my creativity and self expression such as advanced art and creative writing classes. I had the advantage of having wonderful teachers who were supportive, encouraging and enthusiastic so I understand the importance of these qualities in a teacher.

After high school I attended Henry Ford Community College where I earned an Associate of Art degree in both Interior Design and Art Foundations. After graduating from Henry Ford Community College, I yearned for more knowledge and experience so I applied to the College for Creative Studies in Detroit, Michigan and was accepted. It was there that I achieved a Bachelor of Fine Art in Industrial Product Design as well as a Michigan Art Teacher Certification.

I am currently working on a Masters of Education with an endorsement in Autism Spectrum Disorders at Madonna University so that I can better understand a wide range of learners and better serve them as their teacher.

I am so excited to be able to share my knowledge, experience, enthusiasm and passion for art with the students at Hoover and Cass Elementary Schools. Helping students develop their knowledge of art, skills, talent, and creativity fills me with great joy and I am grateful to have this opportunity.
